Laban the Little Ghost- No one is afraid of Laban

It’s nighttime. The castle grounds are bathed in moonlight. A bat swoops by without a sound. The clock strikes twelve and it’s haunting time. In the kitchen, Papa Ghost is getting ready for a busy night of spooky work. He shows Laban his scariest ghost noises. The little ghost wants to sound scary too, but no matter how he tries, he sounds cute. Mama Ghost has an idea: Maybe Laban could get those moans and groans just right if he went up to the castle and scared someone for real? So Laban tries to scare Little Prince, the King and the Queen, only they aren’t frightened at all, they’re just happy to see him.
Laban is the one who gets scared as he drifts down the dark lonely hallways. Shadows dance along the walls, suits of armor creak ominously and the eyes of the family portraits follow his every move. A sudden draft snuffs out the candle in the hallway. It’s pitch black. Laban is terrified. When he lights it again he finds himself face to face with... a ghost! Aaaaah! Laban screams his head off. Everyone rushes in to see where the bloodcurdling scream came from. Laban takes another look—why, it’s a mirror! That terrifying spook was none other than Laban, the little ghost. He had scared himself. Laban can’t help laughing. Haunting doesn’t come easy if you’re afraid of the dark!
