BECK 53 – Ur askan (Ashes to Ashes) premieres on 5 December on TV4 Play Plus. The audience favourite BECK returns with a new film filled with drama, strong characters and moral dilemmas.

“The fact that BECK still engages audiences after more than fifty films shows the strength of both the storytelling and the characters,” says Jon Mankell, executive producer at TV4 Drama.

In Ashes to Ashes the BECK-group is confronted with an arson murder. Senior pastor Tolle is found burned to death in Jeriko parish church. The church’s second pastor, Ellen Bengtsdotter Dahl, is Alex’s (Jennie Silfverhjelm) childhood friend. The case quickly becomes personal, and Alex is faced with difficult decisions when her professional work clashes with her personal life.

Other roles include Peter Haber, Valter Skarsgård, Martin Wallström, Måns Nathanaelson, Elmira Arikan and Nina Zanjani.

BECK 53 – Ur askan (Ashes to Ashes) is produced by Francy Suntinger and Malini Ahlberg at Filmlance International, part of Banijay. It is directed by Lisa Farzaneh, with a screenplay by Annika Sandahl. The drama director at TV4 is Johanna Lind and the executive producer is Jon Mankell. BECK is a co-production between TV4, Filmlance, Nordisk Film Production and ZDF, in collaboration with DR, TV 2 Norway, Nordisk Film Distribution and Banijay Rights. BECK is distributed internationally by Banijay Rights.
