The crime hit The Sandhamn Murders returns with an anniversary season

Tv Series

The popular crime series The Sandhamn Murders, based on Viveca Sten’s best-selling book series, is back this autumn on TV4 and TV4 Play. The series premiered in 2010 and is now celebrating 15 years – while reaching yet another milestone: a total of 25 produced films.

Since its inception, The Sandhamn Murders has attracted millions of viewers with its unique combination of exciting crime cases, fascinating characters and scenic archipelago setting. The series is based on Viveca Sten’s crime fiction series.

– “The fact that Sandhamn Murders is celebrating its 15th anniversary is a testament to the strength of the characters, a gripping setting and the fantastic team behind the show. The viewers’ love has surpassed everything I could have dreamed of,” says Viveca Sten.

At the centre is prosecutor Nora Linde, played by Alexandra Rapaport, who, together with police officer Alexander (Nicolai Cleve Broch) and his colleague Valpen (Julius Fleischanderl), solves brutal murders in the idyllic setting of Sandhamn Island.

– I think it’s a luxury to be part of a series as beloved as The Sandhamn Murders during your acting career. I hope viewers will enjoy the films when they return to the Sandhamn universe. I feel both excited and proud for the release,” says Alexandra Rapaport.

The eleventh season consists of three films shown in six episodes, premiering in August. The films offer new relationships, romance and exciting murder mysteries, and the cast is strengthened by several well-known actors.

The films are directed by Niklas Ohlson, Mattias Ohlsson and John Sundvall. Screenwriters are Sara Heldt and Johan Widerberg. Producers are Francy Suntinger and Malini Ahlberg from Filmlance, part of Banijay. From TV4 Drama, Petra Ahlin is executive producer and Johanna Lind head of drama.

The Sandhamn Murders premieres on 10 August on TV4 Play+ and TV4 later in August.
